Tungsten Alloy Isotope Container

In nuclear medicine, radioactive sources must be safely housed, so radiopharmaceutical vials are held in tungsten shields while the dose is drawn up into a syringe ready for treatment. The use of tungsten alloy for this purpose reduces the finger dose received by medical personnel, protecting them from harmful levels of radiation exposure.
