Tungsten Polymer Has High Density And Controllable Density

Tungsten polymer has the characteristics of high density, controllable density, high radiation shielding, high flexibility and environmental protection. It can be used to manufacture tungsten polymer radiation shielding, and can be widely used in medical treatment and industry. Tungsten polymer radiation shield can be used in medical imaging equipment, radiotherapy system, nuclear medicine, security inspection system, industrial CT flaw detection equipment, nuclear industry and other equipment. Because tungsten polymer material not only has high radiation shielding, but also has good ductility and flexibility, it can be widely used in personnel protection.


The manufacturing technology of tungsten polymer is a special metallurgical technology by mixing various resins with tungsten powder. Tungsten in tungsten polymer accounts for 60% by weight but 96% by weight. It has high density, but it is not a metal material. Tungsten polymer behaves as a solid at room temperature, and its shape will change accordingly under the action of external force, because its hardness is not large and its surface shows an oily state. Tungsten polymer is produced by pressing sintering process. Different from tungsten alloy materials, the content of tungsten in the material ratio is only 60%, and the binder is (the link should be removed) made of polymer compounds, so the morphology is completely different from that of traditional tungsten products. Because the hardness of tungsten polymer is not very high, the surface treatment is not as smooth as tungsten alloy products. Tungsten polymer is mainly used in the manufacture of radiation shielding materials, so the required accuracy and surface finish will not be very high, but there are high requirements for the performance of radiation shielding.
